Chocolate orange kefir smoothie – a delicious and probiotic rich drink
This has without doubt become our most sold out of the smoothies and I’d agree that it’s the most delicious.
We will need to change the orange when this season ends and move to using whatever fruit we can get our hands on. We will also try a chocolate mint version and start include antioxidant rich indigenous teas like rooibos and buchu.

For those of you wanting to add some nutrition to your kefir at home, here is the recipe for 1 cup.
Simply blend this all together in a blender or you can just as easily hand whisk this, chill and serve.
What I love about this is that it has a milk-shake sort of flavor for kids that need the probiotic value of this yet don’t respond well to the sourness of kefir.
Why we did the smoothies, it’s just making it easier to get the probiotic value and extra nutrition to those who don’t tolerate the sourness of kefir and children especially. I cannot make my daughter drink kefir yet her gut health is something I need to build but she will happily drink it in this form.
